Reading a lot of blogs. I’ve come to the conclusion that if I am going to talk the talk in social media, I should probably contribute as well. I tend to gravitate towards the electronics and gaming blogs (Joystiq, Engadget, Ars, etc), but I have also been reading more marketing related stuff. My internet marketing prof put me onto seth godin, who has a ton of pretty cool thoughts everyday. I love the way he writes, and he seems to just sit down with a focused thought for about two or three paragraphs and manages to get his point across well. I’ve always struggled with that skill…keeping my thoughts focused on paper, first try.

I wouldn’t call myself a bad writer, but I typically need to revise my writing quite a bit before it really starts looking polished. I don’t think there is anything wrong with this tactic, I just wish the process were quicker. For example, my blog posts don’t get the full revision treatment, at the expense of the reader…if anyone even reads this thing. You’d think a marketer would do a better job of marketing his blog…

I am also super busy with school and work, and duties for the Student Marketing Association have been surprisingly time consuming as well. Fall quarter has enlightened me to my greatest weakness, time management. At least I can answer the tough interview questions now…

I’d still really like to work on my website, but learning web design by trial and error hasn’t been a joy. One thing that angers me about WWU is the restrictions placed on graphic and web design courses, limiting them to art and comp sci majors respectively. Oh well, even if I could take them, I wouldn’t have the time.

First up, LittleBigPlanet and Fable 2. Next comes Fallout 3, Resistance 2, Gears 2. Not to mention everything else that I can’t afford right now.

LittleBigPlanet will be my first contribution to the house’s new games. It is getting some fantastic reviews, although the only review I really care about is the only one absent.

Conversely, Fable 2 is probably the game I am least looking forward to;I shockingly did not enjoy the first one much. Even so, I am willing to give the series a serious chance to redeem itself, especially given the hype surrounding Tuesday’s successor.
